1.      Where are you from? What do you do for work? Family?

I was born in Aurora, CO but have lived in the Atlanta area most of my life. I currently reside in Woodstock.

I am an Electrical Engineer with a Danish based Sound and Vibration Company. We primarily work with companies in the Aerospace and Defense and Automotive Market to solve problems that resolve around structural dynamics/integrity, engine diagnostics, vehicle noise testing, weapons development, etc.

I have a Mom (Kristi) and Dad (Jimmy) that live in Lawrenceville, two brothers (one of them being Taylor which coaches at CrossFit Passion and the other joining the Air Force latter this year, Jordan), a sister (Mercedes, who is studying to be a Nurse). My girlfriend (Whitney) and I have two dogs named Coby (Mini-Australian Shepherd) and Cooper (Puggle). We are all very fitness driven and enjoy CrossFit.

2.      When did you start CFP?

I joined CFP about two years ago but have been going CrossFit for 4 years.

3.      What’s your biggest fitness/health accomplishment since starting CFP?

My biggest fitness accomplishment since starting CFP has been getting all of my squats above 300 lbs. which has lead into other strength improvements.

4.      What are your future fitness goals?

I would love to back squat 400 lbs., be able to do 20 MUs unbroken, and snatch 250. Honestly, I just want to keep improving, stay healthy, and enjoy the journey. I love working out and the daily challenge found in the gym. Progress is all I ask for.

5.      What do you do for fun?

I spend time with my girlfriend (Whitney) and our two dogs. Taking hikes and going to the park. I enjoy spending time with my family and playing basketball.

6.      Favorite lift/workout?

My favorite lift is a squat snatch and my favorite work out is 30 MUs for time or Amanda.

7.      Least favorite lift/workout?

My least favorite lift is a Power Snatch which leads into my least favorite work out Isabel.

8.      What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start at CrossFit Passion?

Just come in and give it a shot. Don’t be afraid to take risks and try something new. You will continually surprise yourself on a daily basis and improve. The nice part of CrossFit is you are constantly challenging yourself with likeminded people and will have data driven results to prove you are getting better. Your overall fitness level will improve and you will become a better person. This place will change you if you let it. The people and the community are the greatest aspect of CrossFit. You will be constantly amazed of what people are capable of doing so why not be one of those people that amazes others as well. There is a common misconception that people have to be in shape to start CrossFit and that some feel CrossFit is too overwhelming initially. This just isn’t correct because everyone in the gym is a normal person with normal problems that are willing to help you feel at home. Remember, most people that start any new health and fitness regime are either out of shape or out of their element. The ones that are able to step outside of their comfort zone, even if it’s for just a moment initially, are the ones that enjoy CrossFit the most. It will bring out the competitive nature in you especially if you’re a former athlete. Be willing to take a leap of faith for yourself and trust that you can overcome all obstacles in the gym. Check your ego at the door otherwise you will get a dose of humility with every workout. Enjoy the journey (all the highs and lows) and don’t just chase PRs. If you build a solid foundation the PRs will come in tenfold soon enough. Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome. Find time to go out of your way to help others in the gym just as others helped you along the way. Become a better you!
