- Where are you from? What do you do for work? Family
I am from Long Island, NY. I lived in the same county for 30 years before moving to Georgia in 2003 to be with the man who is now my wonderful husband, Ken. I was once in corporate sales in NYC, but have had an even more demanding job than that for the last 12 years…raising 3 kids. My stepson is 17, I have an 11 year old daughter, and a 9 year old daughter. All of whom keep me on my toes and teach me more about myself than I ever wanted to know.
- When did you start CFP?
I started at CFP in October 2013. Ironically, I discovered CFP when I picked up the local paper that gets thrown in my driveway every week. You know the one you just throw away. Well, this time I took a look at it while walking into my house. On the cover was an article about Travis which caught my attention, so, I drove by the box that week to check it out. I was an active member of boot camp class at LifeTime and was looking for something more challenging. Let’s just say I found challenging 😉
- What’s your biggest fitness/health accomplishment since starting CFP?
I would say my biggest accomplishment is really consistency with showing up, although I am late A Lot ? Prior to CFP I would attend bootcamp regularly but not as many days per week or months per year, LOL, as I do here. I plan my days around being at the 8:30 class as much as possible. Recently, I have had many unforeseen “interruptions” that caused me to miss some days and it makes me miserable. I love how I feel after working out so I try really hard to be purposeful in scheduling around CFP.
- What are your future fitness goals?
Although I said I am consistent in showing up, I am like a yo-yo with eating and nutrition. My goal would be to improve my body weight/gymnastics movements, which I think can be done through better nutrition a/k/a lower body weight.
- What do you do for fun?
I torture the ladies in the 8:30 am class by being a goof ball. I love to be social, spend time outdoors hiking, backpacking, camping, boating, running. I love to travel!!
- Favorite lift/workout?
I love kettlebells and clean and jerks.
- Least favorite lift/workout?
uhhhhhh Burpees? snatches? overhead squat? any of those will do.
- What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start at CrossFit Passion?
My advice for those considering crossfit is to try it for a week. The daily, varied, challenge of CrossFit keeps working out fun. The coaches genuinely care and the programming is amazing. The camaraderie you will find at CFP is second to none. Everyone is so supportive and you will find yourself looking forward to showing up to see your friends because that is what the people at the gym will become to you. ?
